Mass Capture
This process involves building a funnel into which the animals are chased using a helicopter.
Mass captures is the capture of wildlife in large numbers.
Process
These captures are done by using a large capture boma with curtains that closes behind the animals once they enter the boma.
Helicopters and mostly used to chase the herds into the boma and push them into the funnel which leads to the transport trucks.
Once onto the trucks they are split into family groups or moved into compartments with the desired number of individuals and transported to their new destination. The animals are injected with a tranquilizer to minimize and stress experienced during the capture and transport process.
This method of capture is ideal on protected areas where the animal numbers have exceeded the carrying capacity of the reserve.
Vision
We aim to raise money by means of membership fees, lectures, exhibitions, sales, donations, etc. for the purpose of furthering the aims and objectives of the Association.
